In Studio

Overture con passione!

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

Well, here goes the very first post onto my web site! I won’t bother repeating any of the preamble found on my Hello World page, but I’ll preface that I’m a newbie to blogging. I plan to cover a number of topics ranging from what’s going on Inside My Studio (I’ve given up on declaring it finished, and now refer to it as a “continuous improvement project” aka “sink hole”). I’ll share some “Lessons Learned” that will hopefully help others avoid some of the pitfalls I’ve encountered. I’ll also try my hand at a few Concert Reviews – not that I attend many, but I really enjoy “live music” and the challenge of putting words to these experiences. Last, and hopefully not least, I’ll keep you posted on My Music Projects! Even though the end result is a Tune, these really are projects in and of themselves especially since I collaborate with different musicians. I encourage you to post your comments along the way – good, bad, or indifferent!

I don’t have loads of pictures to share; but I’ll work on it. For now, I came across one that shows a portion of my home studio. We modern day musicians love our gear so I’ll go through the studio architecture in greater detail shortly.

But before we continue, I’d like to first thank Devin Schoeffler for his efforts in designing this site. Your skills and creativity never cease to impress!

I am a professional hobbyist when it comes to this.   Though my relationship with the piano began at a young age, I only recently pulled off the gloves to rekindle it and haven’t looked back since.   This was partly inspired by huge advancements in music production technology now available to all  – and from the comfort and privacy of your home!   I’ve never subscribed much to job titles so I won’t attempt to label my genre.  Besides, composing music mirrors life in that there are really only two ways to write a song: your way, and the wrong way.

Thank you for your interest and encouragement.
